From Lance
Weiller (of the Jersey Devil film, 'The Last Broadcast')
comes this rather surprising horror film that not only utilizes
unique storytelling techniques but also does so with, get this,
COMICS. Steve Bisette of Swamp Thing and Taboo
fame illustrates two narrative comics that run throughout the
film telling different facets of the story.
One comic is a Christian booklet much like the infamous 'Chick'
minis that the main character finds in a phone booth. The booklet
depicts what awaits those who turn from God's path and the troubled
protagonist cannot help but see similarities to his own plight
in the images.
The other comic device involves the next door neighbor who is
drawing a story based on his neighbor's pains which suggests
there might be more to this film than is readily apparent.
Aside from
these fantastic ideas, it's a gripping and creepy horror film.
Put it in your Netflix queue for the upcoming Halloween season.
